Welcome to Harlow Labradoodles, based in lovely, green Seattle.

We specialize in therapy dog-caliber multi-generational Australian Labradoodles. All puppies receive early therapy dog training as well as basic manners training. At adulthood, our dogs are medium/standard, low to non-shedding with mild temperament.

All puppies are professionally temperament tested, vaccinated, chipped, and spay/neutered before arriving at their new homes at age eight weeks.

Our program is purposely kept small in order to focus on preparing our puppies for later therapy work, as well as fitting in with their new homes. All dogs are whelped and raised inside our home.

What is a Multi-Generational Australian Labradoodle?

The original Australian Labradoodle line was bred in Australia in the 1980s in partnership with the Royal Guide Dog Society to create a non-shedding service dog for a disabled woman whose husband had severe allergies. The dog was a success, and the line was refined to ensure the temperament and health of the dogs was not compromised. The dogs are now available in many countries outside of Australia.

This type of labradoodle is virtually shed-less, and those with severe allergies who cannot tolerate most dogs can often tolerate the Australian Labradoodle. In addition, as an owner of any shedding dog can tell you, having your dog sit on your lap without leaving dog hair behind is wonderful!

Why is this dog breed low to non-shedding? The Labrador Retriever was combined with the non-shedding Poodle, then infused other breeds to soften the coat (Irish Water Spaniel, Curly Coated Retriever). The original program that partnered with the Royal Guide Dog Association of Australia to create this breed then continued to monitor the temperament and health of the dogs to ensure the quality of the line was not compromised.
